RESEARCH

Dr C. PARRAS is an expert in Molecular and Developmental Neurobiology. His research studies how cellular diversity is generated in the brain.  He investigates the transcriptional mechanisms controlling neural stem cell differentiation into different types of neurons or glial cells (astrocytes and oligodendrocytes). Presently, as part of the brain development lab led by Bassem Hassan, his team is focused on the transcriptional mechanisms regulating the timing of neural progenitor cells differentiation during embryonic and postnatal brain development.
